The inauguration ceremony of the Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Authority was held on 31 May in Busan with the dedicated commitment to open the New Airport in 2029 together with the National Assembly, local governments, and related organizations.

The Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Authority, which completed registration of establishment on 25 April, plans to proceed with the construction of the New Airport, including site preparation work and passenger terminal construction, starting with the signing of a basic and detailed design contract with the passenger terminal design winner at the end of June. When this Authority commences its project in earnest, the number of executives and employees currently at 49 in three headquarters plans to expand to 106.
