Secured USD 5 billion in the Amiral Petrochemical Project as Sparking the Second Booming of Middle East in Full Swing based on Achievements by Top-level Diplomacy

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Minister WON Hee-ryong) announced that Hyundai E&C held a signing ceremony with Aramco for contracting on the project Nos. 1 and 4 of the Amiral Petrochemical Plant* package at 10:00 (16:00 KST) on Sat. 24 June local time.
* It is a petrochemical plant construction project promoted by Aramco within Jubail, eastern Saudi Arabia, to produce petrochemical products such as ethylene, etc.
As this project is the largest scale (USD 5 billion to be approx. KRW 6.4 trillion) that our companies have ever won in Saudi Arabia, our accumulated contract winnings in overseas construction during the first half of this year were at least USD 13.7 billion, exceeding last year’s (USD 12 billion) already.
