Baek Won Kug
Vice Minister for Transport
Greetings
I am Baek Won-kug, Vice Minister for Transport of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea.
As our administration embarks on the second year of its term, we are dedicated to harnessing our capacities to materialize the transformative changes that we pledged to the people.
First of all, we will enhance the role of the land, infrastructure and transport sectors in fostering new industries and creating jobs.
Advanced mobilities, such as autonomous vehicles and urban air mobility (UAM), will be established as core industries.
We will also focus on promoting the swift recovery and advancement of traditional industries, including aviation, buses, taxies, and logisitics, which have faced difficulties due to the pandemic.
Transport networks will be more robust and expanded.
We will make further efforts to successfully conduct the GTX projects and to increase the operation of metropolitan buses, with the aim of enabling a 30-minute commute in all parts of the capital area.
Above all, our utmost priority lies in ensuring the safety of transport service users.
We will remain committed to always listening to the people’s voices and drawing insights from the field.
Thank you.
