The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister KIM Yun-duk) and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS,
President JEONG Yong-sik) announced that automated driving shuttle buses will operate around Gyeongju’s Bomun Tourist Complex during the APEC event.
These self-driving shuttles, branded as ‘K-Autonomous’, combine hardware from leading Korean automakers such as Kia and KGM with
autonomous driving software developed by Autonomous a2z, achieving over 90% domestic production rate with an opportunity to
showcase Korea’s homegrown autonomous driving technology on the global stage.
There are two types of daily routes for up to 20 passengers in 7 times of operation around the Bomun Complex and for up to 9 passengers in 10 times of operation around the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO), and both routes began their regular operations for the
general public from 10 September 2025.
