Reinforcing Urban Railway Cooperation between Korea and Vietnam

Chairperson of the MOLIT’s Metropolitan Transport Commission KANG Hee-up met with Deputy Head of the Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board Nguyen Quoc Hien on March 14th to discuss ways to reinforce cooperation between Korea and Vietnam in the field of urban railways.
During this meeting, the two sides shared updates on each ongoing transportation project, including the project of constructing North-South High-Speed Railway connecting between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh spanning 1,541km, and the Korea's GTX-A project.
In particular, investment and development strategies in the urban railway sector were intensively discussed such as support measures for policy finances, public private partnership (PPP) for supplementing limited financial resources, and transit oriented development (TOD), etc.
