Minister Won visits Poland for Cooperation in Reconstruction of Ukraine

Minister WON Hee-ryong of the MOLIT visited Warsaw, Poland, to attend the ‘International Conference for Reconstruction of Ukraine’ on Mon. 22 May, jointly organized by the Korean, Ukrainian, and Polish private sectors, and expressed Korea's willingness to actively cooperate with Ukraine to support its reconstruction.
Later, Minister Won took part in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)* between the Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND) and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) meeting with Mr. Zdzisław Sokal, (Deputy Chairman) Member of the Board of PAIH.
* (Key contents of the MOU) Sharing business information, discovering joint projects and collaborating to support Ukraine's reconstruction, etc.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Minister Won paid a visit to the Ukrainian Refugee Support Center in Warsaw and heard about the status of support from officials of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and also listened to Ukrainians.
In addition, he called on the site of the largest waste incineration plant in Poland, which is being constructed by POSCO E&C, while beating European companies, to check the progress and encourage the onsite officials.
