The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister PARK Sang-woo) and the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology (KIAST, President LEE Dae-sung) announced the results of the open call (16 Jan. ~ 14 Feb.) for 2025 ‘Drone Demonstration City Project’ and ‘Drone Commercialization Support Project’ selecting 26 local governments and 7 companies through evaluation by experts in private sector among a total of 47 local governments and 39 drone companies applied.

Launched in 2019, the Drone Demonstration City Project is designed to enhance public services by integrating drone technology into various sectors, such as delivery, leisure, and administrative tasks, tailored to regional needs.

In addition, the drone commercialization support project aims to support drone companies to promote earlier commercialization of excellent drone technology initiated since 2018, while focusing on the domestic production of drone bodies and core components.

Meanwhile, the Drone Commercialization Support Project, introduced in 2018, aims to accelerate the market readiness of high-quality drone technologies as it is focusing on supporting domestic production of drone bodies and core components this year.
