Vice Minister for Land and Infrastructure JIN Hyun-hwan of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister PARK Sang-
woo) led a delegation to support overseas contracts by visiting the Philippines and Thailand from 15-18 October to discuss cooperation in
large-scale infrastructure projects and industrial complex development.
First of all, the delegation visited Manila in the Philippines, where they had meetings with the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Transportation to support the participation of Korean companies in major infrastructure projects in the country, while
discussing partnership ways with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Notably, this visit came on the heels of the recent elevation of bilateral relations with the Philippines to a "strategic partnership" after 75
years of diplomatic ties, and its follow-up measures was closely discussed to expand cooperation in the infrastructure sector between the
two nations.
Next, the delegation headed to Thailand to meet with the Minister of Industry and the Chairperson of the Industrial Estate Authority of
Thailand (IEAT) actively supporting the "Industrial Complex Development Project of Korean standards", which has been promoted by the
Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) and the IEAT, while holding a meeting with Korean companies located in Thailand.
