Pangyo Valley 2 Being Built as Advanced Industry Complex Integrating Smart Technologies
- Visualizing configuration of innovative growth ecosystem by integrating over 30 advanced future technologies

□ From this year on, construction of Pangyo Techno Valley 2 will begin in earnest as an exemplary advanced industry complex that integrates future smart city technologies.

□ MOLIT (Minister Kim Hyun-mee) is scheduled to host a private-government joint TF meeting under the theme ‘Pangyo Valley 2 Smart Technology Implementation Strategies’ on January 30 (Wed.).

ㅇ This meeting will be for discussing over 30 smart services (plans) that the Pangyo Valley 2 constructors (LH, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation) are reviewing or designing together with relevant agencies and experts from the private sector.

ㅇ After announcing the smart service (plans) of the constructors, free discussions will follow on matters that require supplementation or additional reviews, and discussions will also be held on projects that the competent agencies can support.

ㅇ Based on the results of this meeting, execution designs will be performed on the service (plans) and services that can be applied within the available budget will be confirmed within the year. Construction for configuring the smart services will begin its first phase in April of this year and it is scheduled* to be completed in 2021.

□ LH and Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, which are the constructors for Pangyo Valley 2, placed orders for the ‘Pangyo Valley 2 Smart City Strategy Planning’ from 2017 and found smart services that can be applied for Pangyo Valley 2.

ㅇ This service is for the basic design of smart services to enhance efficiency of smart services and infrastructure to enhance convenience of tenant companies, and it actively reflects proposals through idea contests and user surveys such as on tenant companies.

□ The major factor technologies of the Pangyo Advanced Industrial Complex that are currently being reviewed are as follows.

□ MOLIT Industrial Location Policy Division Manager Kim Geun-oh said, “By applying high-value and unique smart solutions, we expect that Pangyo Valley 2 will become the undisputed mecca as empirical smart city and establish itself as an advanced industrial complex that leads the fourth industrial revolution.”

ㅇ He added, “We will actively link newly built industrial complexes together with smart city projects currently being pursued by the MOLIT to establish smart industrial complexes based on ICT technologies.”
